Ultimate Hot Movie List of All Time Part II

Updated on May 24, 2011

Hi movie lover,

I love movies too just like you and whenever I watch a movie, I write a short review of it in my computer and when I have a good collection of short movie reviews, I publish that collection over here because I want to share my views about them and also want to know if other movie lovers just like you like a particular movie or not and why. So read on and if you have something in mind, share via the comment box located right below these reviews. Now enjoy movies for entertainment and fun.

The Ultimate Movie List for Movie Buffs

Scent Of A Women movie released in 1992

Whoa...ah what a movie. Al Pacino was outstanding, magnificent and just plain brilliant in a role, which suited his personality to the core. There was not a single dull moment in this 2 hour 36 minute fun ride and I know no one expects it, if you have Al Pacino taking the center stage throughout its length and doing what he does best. I was so much into his character that I kept only yelling Whoa...ah and Hah throughout (I loved the way he did it). The film has some brilliant crowd-pleasing moments and the dialogues are just like icing on the cake.

If you are truly a huge fan of this Maestro than you have to watch this film. Highly recommended.

My rating: 9.6/10 (just for AL PACINO).

Magnolia Movie Released in 1999

Magnolia is Paul Thomas Anderson's best movie from whatever I have seen (I must tell you all his previous work was really good too) but this one beats them due to its outstanding screenplay, editing and above all brilliant direction.

Each story is so carefully treated and placed one after the other that you do not even realize how time passes by.

It is three hours of non-stop entertainment laced up with some brilliant characters which make this an instant masterpiece. It is a must-must watch.

My rating: 10/10

Definitely, Maybe Movie Released in 2008

This movie actually surprised me with its good content which I must tell you is not different but since it was made with the right intentions, it came out beautifully and looked quite original. I loved the way all the 3 stories are gelled together and also the performances from everyone. Right from Rachel Weisz, Elizabeth Banks to Isla Fisher, everyone played their part beautifully, but without doubt, this film clearly belonged to Abigail Breslin (the Little Miss Sunshine girl) and Ryan Reynolds. I wish the story could bring out more of a father-daughter relationship too rather than focusing more on the father’s relationship with all these girls. Anyways, the film still is heartwarming and touching at places and of course leaves you with a smile so that is enough reason for me to recommend it to any romantic person.

My advice: Highly recommended. My rating: 8.5/10

Viskningar och rop (Cries and Whispers) Movie Released in 1972

I do not remember the last time which film managed to get under my skin so deep as this one did. It was emotionally too painful to bear the pain, which these sisters felt, even though the reason was a bit unclear throughout the film. The only flaw that comes in my mind after watching it is its weak story, but I do not see that as a big problem if you look at the larger picture because the film is still strong enough, both visually and emotionally to hold your attention throughout its length. Since this is my very first Bergman movie, I feel more than satisfied with what I got and I wish to catch more of his films if this is the kind of cinema he serves his audience with.

My advice: This movie is outstandingly original and a must watch if you are in a mood to watch something totally different in terms of narration and dramatization.

My rating: 9.6/10

The Gravedancers Movie Released in 2006

This movie is not a really great horror flick but anyone can watch it at least one time because there are some 2 or 3 good scary scenes. Basically Gravedancers is more about sound than substance in the beginning part but when the plot starts moving forward, you will go with this B-grade horror flick. Don’t get me wrong this film is mildly entertaining but it would not make you jump out of your seat and hence I cannot recommend it for real hardcore horror movie buffs.

Recommendation: Only one-time watch.

My rating 6.7/10

Good Luck Chuck Movie Released in 2007

This movie was supposed to be romantic comedy but all this movie did was that it made me want to kick my own ass for watching it.

If you find a girl with 3 boobs, a guy turning a girl on by licking a penguin doll funny, a penguin eating his own shit, then you will love it. People who found all this disgusting after reading it should strictly avoid this movie. Worse movie I have ever seen.

My rating: 3/10

Spiderwick Chronicles Movie Released in 2008

If you are looking for an entertaining fantasy flick, then this movie is a must watch for you. It is loaded with eye-popping special effects, which can be enjoyed, by both children and adults.

My rating: 7.5/10

Prison Break (Season 2)

I simply loved season 1 of Prison Break for its awesome plot and of course the bag (this guy rocked in it). Well season 2 has more to offer in terms of character development and twists and turns along the way, but this time, it is diluted by the fact that each time a problem seems to solve, a new one comes up. I know this is the only way you can run a serial for a long time but still enough is enough because season 2 should have ended the series but instead it leaves with an end which wants you to catch hold of season 3 as quickly as possible.

Well if you sit down and compare both the seasons, then you will realize that season 1 was far more addictive (I mean I used to watch 10 episodes on my PC daily to know what happens next) but season 2 does not have that effect but what it loses with its tight plot, it makes up with creating a new character Alexander Mahone played brilliantly by William Fichtner. He is simply outstanding in it.

My advice: Fans of season 1 who were disappointed with the ending might not be that letdown with the ending of this season.

My rating: 8.1/10
