Premarital sex on Valentine’s Day

Valentine Day is approaching near and still there are millions of lovers around the world who are stuck between the yes or no of sex before marriage so I thought why not ask some friends of mine that, “What is your opinion on premarital sex on Valentine’s Day”. So I emailed all of them the above question. Again, all these friends of mine include my online friends, relatives, colleagues, and others whom I know. They are both girls and boys between ages 18 - 40.

So now you must be wondering what are there views on premarital sex on Valentine’s Day and answers I have got from them are really amazing. Actually, every person has got a different outlook on this but some come to same conclusion and some are really different. I know this is a controversial topic which has been discussed several times before on the internet, in schools, colleges, offices, and even on hubpages., but then also there are millions of young people who are confused and want some good answers, so let’s read what are their views.

Jitender Singh, a 31-year-old guy who runs a computer shop selling computer hardware and accessories says “if there is a guy who has premarital sex on Valentine’s Day or anytime before marriage, then that person should not expect the girl should be a virgin that he is going to marry. If he himself is a virgin, then it is pretty okay for him to expect his partner to be a virgin too.” He said, “I also have a funny theory about this concept of premarital sex. I think men made this idea due to insecurity. For a man, if the girl has never been with another man, she will think he is the best when it comes to sex since she has never experienced sex with any other man before.”

Manisha, a 22-year-old girl who is a graphic designer and animator is of viewpoint that I think regarding premarital sex on Valentine or any other time it is not just to blame only men for it. If men do have a relation before marriage, it has to be with a woman who herself is not married (unless otherwise), so I feel it should be thought over from both sides and if at all it should be blamed, then both should be blamed for it. The only way to stop such a thing is to take a conscious decision for yourself whether what you are doing is wrong or right. Otherwise, that day will be not far when no man will trust a woman and no woman will trust a man to whom they are getting married have been married to. Marriage will lose its significance.

Nitin Soni, a 20-year-old college student says I think there are still millions of men and women who do not engage in premarital sex. It is just that the media has presented things in such a manner that we all have started assuming that every girl and boy in the world is engaging in premarital sex. It is totally a wrong perception, rather it is dangerous to one because then there are many boys who just want to have this experience in order to be among those who consider it a norm these days.

Shabad, a 25-year-old teacher said sex as per scientific terms is for reproduction, a step towards evolution. It does not matter that you are single or married. The only thing should be that you must have something to pass on to your next generation. Secondly, the most important point is that sex should not be for enjoyment only because any sort of creativity without love is meaningless and useless. I personally feel that it is better to have sex with a committed partner whom you love so that creativity (reproduction) will be the result of love and not lust. If this is the case, premarital sex is fine.

Tanya, a 28-year-old homemaker said that premarital sex is highly condemnable and unethical act. We are not permitted to do that according to our teachings. We are supposed to have sex with only one person in our lifetime and that too after the marriage. Any such act before the marriage is illegal and invites the wrath of the God, the almighty.

Anu, a 19-year-old college girl said that premarital sex is essential and necessary before marriage because that you are able to feel the actual moments of love and explore new dimensions of life which is very essential just like our daily life requirements and needs, so I think it is important to have such experience before marriage with the partner you choose but then also I would say that it is totally personal and depends entirely on your wishes.

After going through all the emails I collected and displayed here, my opinion is that a person should not engage in premarital sex because it is just like sex without consent of your life partner to whom you are going to be married with, whether the former partner is the same partner or any other boyfriend or girlfriend of yours. So it is my advice to young couples that they should think before engaging in premarital sex on Valentine’s Day. There are many other ways through which you can enjoy your Valentine’s Day like watching a movie together, going on a long drive, have a party inviting all your friends, hugging and kissing is fine and then also if you have want to have sex, then think over it once or twice before doing this because there is no one to see you or watch you but it’s you own personal wishes.
