Which is the Best Car: Hyundai Eon vs Maruti Alto? Please compare
This is a critic of “Which is a Better Car - Hyundai Eon or Maruti Alto. Compare” that is done by another car reviewer, Gagan, at mycarhelpline.com. Actually Gagan raised a few points on my hub "Hyundai Eon Vs Alto K10 Vs i10 Vs Santro" to which I have given a few answers that “why people love Eon more than Alto”. Anyone wanting to start a discussion regarding this comparison and critic can do this via the comment box below the SHARE IT button of this page. Here we go:
Hello Gagan, regarding your point #8 in the above comparison:
“Hyundai Eon got Fluidic-stylish looks compared to Maruti Alto while this can be judgmental also and subject to ones own purview” is the main point why Hyundai Eon will sell like hot cakes.
Remember time has changed and there is more recognition and appreciation to appeal, style, exteriors, and other things. Eon is the car of "YOUNG" people who want more style, power, performance all packed up in a single car. By young, I don’t mean only people between 17 to 30 years of age but it is about anyone even a person who is 60 years of age but is more stylish and innovative. More curvy looks are in rather than FLAT exteriors of Alto.
One point that you have not mentioned in your comparison of Eon and Alto K10 is that Eon cannot compete with Maruti on price. There is a 40 k difference in base models of both cars and Eon is costly by 40000 INR which is a huge difference from first time car buyer's perspective. If the base model of Eon had been 239,000 lacs instead of present 269,000 lakhs INR, a whole bunch of Maruti's share would have been lost permanently until and unless Maruti comes up with a more stylish Alto or some other model in comparison of Eon in the future but this has not happened as Hyundai’s purpose is not to cut back on Maruti’s share but they have read and surveyed the mentality of Indian minds better than Maruti’s by developing Eon.
Hyundai has understood the real need of people. If they would have thought of just developing a car that can simply outperform Alto, they would have simply priced it at 225000 lakhs INR. This is the difference between the mentality of Hyundai and Maruti. By this, I don’t mean to underestimate Maruti as it is still the unbeatable leader in Indian auto industry due to its vast network of service centers, better customer care, on-time delivery, and unique used car exchange platforms like True Value which brings in more and more loyal customers in. Also a thing like True Value does not exist with any other car brand in India. Maruti is unique in that.
Plus the most important thing is that I own an Alto and I know about the CRAMPED INTERIORS and ANCIENT STYLE of this car. Just like thousands of Alto users in India, I was waiting for Maruti to launch a car which can be around 30000 INR or more costly but should be packed with style, performance, better maneuverability, and space unlike like present day Alto. Maruti needs to be innovative with its entry level cars also like it is doing with Ritz and Swift. If this can be achieved which I think is not a very far fetched dream, then Maruti will remain as a leader of entry level cars in India.
