Though you can find countless blogs, travel sites, and picture galleries on the Internet covering Mumbai City but today I will share with you a comprehensive travel guide for visiting Mumbai city especially places to visit, other recommended things to do, accommodation, eating out/food guides, entertainment/recreation, and shopping in Mumbai City. Check them first to find out what interests you. Make a list of places you feel like visiting. Make another list of (other recommended things to do) places. This can help you schedule your time more appropriately while visiting Mumbai and you will cover the best of Mumbai as you have seen in Bollywood movies.

Places to Visit in Mumbai:

  1. Sea face at marine lines.
  2. Check out the famous beaches of Juhu and Chowpatty.
  3. If you are looking for a clean beach, move down the Western line towards Arnala, Manori and Gorai.
  4. Get onto a fairy from Bhaucha Dhakka and travel to Alibag. It is awesome out there.

Other Recommended Things to do in Mumbai:

  1. Travel in a local train in Mumbai but avoid peak time travel. Get familiarize with your route before you travel. Purchase genuine tickets. Board in “general” compartment. Stand near the door to enjoy the ride.
  2. If you get a chance, take a train ride from Mankhurd to Belapur. Check the railway stations, urban development, Sea, and nature on your way.
  3. Respect the people around you and be friendly even with the panwala and they will return in the same fashion.
  4. Make extensive use of the great public transportation service: Auto Rickshaws, BEST, TMT, NMMT, Taxis, Mumbai Cool Cabs, etc.
  5. Take care of your wallet, purse, loose bags, ornaments or anything expensive you are carrying with you, including your loved ones. Mumbai is a very crowded city and the chances of getting lost are very high.

  1. Heera Panna, Big Bazaar, Fashion Street, Cross Roads, etc. are some popular places for fashion shopping in Mumbai.
  2. You can shop for electronics, laptops, and latest gadgets at Lamington Road, Mumbai.

  3. Do not trust extremely friendly and helpful strangers
  4. Do not get into argument with a cop.
  5. Beware of cops if you are romancing in public place.
  6. Check for photography signs at all popular buildings or be ready to be fined by a cop.
