What is the best mode of public transport in London?
67"The Tube" Or The London Underground is the best mode of public transport available in London. London is known for one of the best public transport system in the world. There are many modes of public transport in London "the city of glamor and business" but the best public transport in London is "The Tube" according to me.
The London Underground, or the Tube is, universally known to Londoners and is the easiest, affordable, and quickest mode of moving around in London. With around 275 stations, 63 in central London, conveniently pointed across the city, you will be never far away from a Tube station. Most of the people in London use the Tube for moving around.
London has 12 Tube lines and 274 stations. The Tube trains run on all the lines between 5.30 a.m. and 00:30 a.m. from Monday to Saturday and between 7.30 a.m. and 23.30 p.m. on Sundays, and the most important thing, it is every few minutes. All London Underground trains are a no smoking place. The London underground is highly recommended for tourists, visiting London from other countries around the world.
I love London Underground for its convenience and quickness and being the best mode of public transport in London. Anther tip for London tube visitors is to also buy one of the postcards from a tourist shop which has a map of the underground lines on them. They cost pennies and you can keep them in a pocket discreetly, rather than carrying a tour guide, openly displaying your tourist credentials.
A strong, customer friendly, and well arranged public transportation displays the economical growth and development of a country and London tube is the best example of this. Thanks to God that Tube like system has also started in several other countries even in my own place, New Delhi, where you can find Delhi Metro which has in a very short span of time has connected to the lives of Delhites as Tube has done for Londoners.

As an occasional tourist in London, I comfirm your point of view. Not only the Tube covers most of London (till Heathrow... how good is that ?) but compared to other metro systems, it has the big advantage of being clean. My last experiences with the Paris metro for example lead me to one conlusion: it stinks !!
I see only two drawbacks to the Tube: it's relatively warm donw there, and no all stations are well equipped for prams (young father speaking).
Yes, as a londoner i love the tube but it can a bit hot at times and overcrowed at most times but is a wonderfull weay to get from a to z;)
Thanks this is really helpful as im going to visit london soon!
Thanks for sharing this informative article. I wish I could travel to London this year.

I am very happy, soni2006, to see this hub on London's tube system. I am a big fan of public transportation where I live in the United States. I grew up in Yonkers, N.Y., where we had a network of trolley cars unti the early 1950's. There was no better form of transportation for New Yorkers. New York City used to have some trolleys, too, as well as the subways its still has. Unfortunately, New York unwisely continues to increase fares by incredible numbers. Fares were a nickel when I was a kid, and I'm told they're up to about $3 now. It's a formula for extinction. I've mentioned the trolleys a few of my hubs, and I hope you will consider writing further on this subject. Public transportation is the way of the future.
