Mori in Uttaranchal - Best River Rafting Camping Destination near Delhi
79
Today, I will share with you all details about a relatively unknown place in Uttaranchal. Its name is Mori. There is the least possibility of this small place being known by even the most frequent travelers due to it being least commercialized and populated. Also, the reason is that this place is not among round the year crowded popular hill stations. Mori is basically an adventurous rafting camp site lying on the course of Tons River. If you want to camp with your family and friends and have fun and adventure on the foothills of North-West Garhwal near the border connecting with Himachal Pradesh, then Mori is the best rafting camp destination near Delhi. Most interesting thing to note is that the overall vacation including travel expense, camping accommodation, adventure sports, trekking, food and dining cost will not hurt your pocket as it is very budget friendly for college groups, family reunions, office colleagues, etc.
Official Information about Mori - Location and History
Mori is a small hamlet located on the banks of Tons River at a height of 3800 feet. It is connected with Garhwal, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand region of India. Mori is located at a distance of around 408 kilometers from Delhi.
Whatever known about Mori by most people is that it is famous for white water rafting camps organized from April to June by Camp Megatons, Mercury Himalayan Explorations, Banjara Rafting Camp Mori, and Camp Hari Ki Dun. They provide services from best campsites, camp equipment, best rafting sites, raft equipment, hiking equipment, and best hiking trails to services like best trekking sites, trekking equipment plus breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also, these camps provide recreational activities like badminton, volleyball, burma bridge, fox rope, etc. on the banks of Tons river. April to June is the best time to visit Mori as this is time when it is quite crowded; otherwise, it is a relatively unvisited place in other seasons of the year.
If you like peaceful camping vacation, then you can visit Mori from July to March but as it is abandoned and lonely, be watchful as you can see some paranormal activity at other times of the year. Haahaa, just joking, don’t worry.
As far as history goes, it has not been a part of British or Indian Government projects to convert into a tourist destination not it has been involved in any kind of historic war or revolution. It is just a little quiet hamlet which started attracting tourists a few years back due to its white water rafting opportunities. As other rafting destinations, Rishikesh and Beas, remain busy and highly crowded during the season, it was Mori which attracted the attention of a few adventurers and today Mori is still a little known tourist destination but well known rafting and camping destination.

The tariff mentioned above in accommodation expenses includes food so you will have to spend on food only while traveling apart from the accommodation option. Let’s take the amount of 1500 for 4 people for both the days of going and coming back.

According to the above calculation, the accommodation and stay option is little expensive but you are getting food, pleasure of camping, benefit of travel guide, rafting guard, rented trekking equipment, and other adventure activities including badminton court, volleyball court on the banks of river Tons also, so this place is worth visiting at least once.
Yes, one more thing to add is that it will not matter much if the costs are shared by group of people like family members and friends, but yes if you are going with your girlfriend and wife alone, then the entire fuel cost has to be borne by you and in this case, Mori will not remain a budget friendly vacation for you because it will make a sizeable difference in expenses but for travel groups, personal friends, joint families, this is the best adventurous budget friendly rafting camp site near Delhi.
