Is Paypal Wishlist a SCAM? Just got my 98 dollars from paypal
72I got to know about the Paypal Wishlist which is a facebook application around three days back on December 2nd, 2009 by one of my friend and since then I started hunting and researching if this facebook promo a scam or not. I think it is not only me, as there are many people around the world who are investigating if this is really a scam or not. It might be possible that you are also looking out for the same. If yes, then I would like to tell you that Facebook owners do not approve any outside application if it is a scam because they would be having serious problems if any of their applications, either build by them or others but associated with them, is a scam.
Countries eligible for payment (1 dollar per friend up to 100 dollars) for just downloading PayPal WishList Application via Facebook are India, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore.
Is PayPal WishList a SCAM or not?
I am pretty sure that this Paypal Wishlist application is not a fraud or scam because if it is, facebook will lose its trust on millions of users using its applications and other products for social networking or for business plus facebook’s share prices would go down if that happens.
Have you ever thought that why paypal has been paying 1 dollar to each person just for signing up with the paypal wishlist? It is because many of our facebook friends have to create a paypal account yet and if paypal is able to get merchants sign in and start doing business with paypal or use paypal, paypal will earn. I have been using paypal for around three years now and whenever I receive a payment, paypal gets a certain share for fees and this fee is not cheap, it must be definitely more than 1 dollar and Paypal earns more money in the name of fees whenever we withdraw money to our bank accounts. Paypal also earns money forex conversion. I have set dollars as currency in my paypal account and whenever I withdraw money to my Indian bank account, paypal converts it to Indian rupees and sends these rupees to my bank account in India.
It is for sure that the money Paypal has spent in building and applying this WishList application in contract with facebook is nothing when it is compared to the new businesses Paypal is getting through Facebook users converting them into new Paypal users and because PayPal and Facebook have used word of mouth advertising and used social networking to get business, they do not have to invest heavily in traditional media advertisements like TV ads, Print ads, and radio ads, so the PayPal WishList promo has become a new concept of manual advertising.
Besides countries eligible for payment, what are other eligibility requirements or terms and conditions for earning money with PayPal WishList Application?
1. A person should be at least 18 years of age and should have a valid working PayPal account and valid registration address and should be located in at least one of these countries: India, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, or Singapore. I remember Paypal having referral programs like these in other countries and this time I think PayPal has been targeting Asia Pacific in order to become widely used payment system in this region.
2. The PayPal WishList promotion began at 00:00:01 Singapore Standard Time (“SST”) on 16th of November 2009 and will end at 23:59:59 SST on 31st of December 2009 (”Promotion Period”). I like this PayPal WishList promotion because they are using the power of social networking to promote PayPal. The plus point is that everyone joining from eligible countries is getting rewarded for sharing it with their friends.
3. In addition, you can share PayPal WishList with your friends via Facebook and for sharing this wishlist with each friend who will then download and will create his/her own PayPal WishList via your invitation, PayPal will pay you additional 1 USD up to maximum total sum of 100 USD for each PayPal account.
Important Note: If you are residing outside the Eligible Countries, you can download the PayPal WishList; but you will not get any reward for participation in this Promotion. Plus, you will not be able to get US $1 or cash for those PayPal WishLists that are created by a person(s) outside the eligible countries, even if the sum stating “YOU HAVE EARNED” on your Facebook page may indicate, otherwise. This means that when the Promotional Period will end, you may be entitled to less dollars than stated on “YOU HAVE EARNED” counter on your PayPal WishList Facebook Application page.
But this is not a scam or fraud and it is a genuine offer trusted by millions of people worldwide.

This is good news soni2006! I've had a paypal account for some years now and like their services overall. However, you and your friends should be alerted that there are a lot of e-mail scammers using the paypal emblem.
Needless to say, if you get an e-mail from paypal indicating that they need your account information or password. It's a scam! The "real" paypal already has that information. Google paypal scams to become familiar with what to watch out for. Thanks for sharing the info!

Hi ryzaru, I think you have not gone through the details and terms and conditions of the paypal wishlist, it clearly says that the valid money calculated for your paypal wishlist will be credited to your paypal account before February 28th, 2010. So I think this is not a scam. Millions of people have faith in paypal and paypal will not be happy to defame itself forfeiting your money. It is not a SCAM and it is for sure. Even I have not received my 98 dollars and it is still displaying in the paypal wishlist. I will show my details when I will get the money in my system. Wait for some more days before you consider this a scam.

Hi. I am one of those people who has tried joining this program. I got an email yesterday saying that my Paypal account has been rewarded for joining the wishlist program. So I logged on to Paypal account only to find out that there is no paypal payment for that wishlist thing whatsoever. The emails says that if you don't see the payment just yet, it means that they are currently working on it. Been checking my paypal account since yesterday and until now, I got nothing.
I have even not received an email from paypal or wishlist or facebook regarding this. I completed 98 $US in December last year. You are a lucky one hotshot for receiving that email and as you have got that, your payment will be in the pipline. Wait for February 28th 2010 before making a decision or thinking that paypal wishlist a scam. It is not I think. Then also, waiting eagerly to receive my payment.

Paypal is not a scam or fraud. To earn money , you need to add your bank account or credit card to the Paypal account. By this your account would be verified and you can transfer that earned money or perhaps purchase anything you wish online. .. :)

How about this? They are still working on sending it. Just check back your money regularly.
sonio, me to received the email which says "You¡¯ve got money! Thank you for participating in our Facebook WishList promotion bla bla" and as I followed the link to login on my paypal account, there is no new payment. My credits still remained 13dollars. I received the email yesterday. Does it really take long?
Yes flip it up, the official date for crediting all the dollars in our paypal account as set by paypal is February 28th, 2010. Wait until then and you will see rewards to your paypal account. Best of luck and flip it up.

Hi! I already received my PayPal WishList rewards. If did receive an email and you still did not see it posted, it could be possible that your email address on Paypal is still not confirmed or that you're using a different email address on PayPal. You have to make sure that the email you entered at the time you allowed the application is listed and is confirmed on your account. You'll just see it as a payment received. They will usually post your rewards a few days after you received the notification.
I think there main purpose is that a person should go through their link that they sent to your email address, as when I did this after some time of again logging again to paypal wishlist my money got straight away in my account - 98 dollars are mine, I will encash my money earned from paypal wishlist today.

In this hub, I posted information related to paypal wishlist and that I got my earnings into my account last night according to Indian Standard Time but reading your story leads me to the conclusion that you must have gone through a scam email sent by some fraudulent people who engage in credit card frauds and identity thefts. Might be this or might be not. I frankly want to tell you that I do not have any idea about the PHP credit limit you are talking about. Please do not visit your paypal account via this link. It might hack your password. The best way is to login in your paypal account from a separate independent page and see what there is in store for you in your PP account. Best of luck.

This was a legal program offered by Paypal. So many members got their cash in paypal.
i don't think big company such as paypal would at all connect their site to a big network such as facebook if it was... i received my $19 from my paypal account and have been able to buy an mp3 outta' it last january.
