How to take care of yourself during pregnancy
70Below I have listed some useful tips to take care of yourself during pregnancy, read them and use them at the time you are pregnant:
Reading Books on Comedy
Do this on a daily basis. Spend some time of yours in reading books on a daily basis. By this, I do not wan to say that your baby will have a love of literature when he/she will grow up, but just because reading is a very soothing and relaxing activity. At the time of pregnancy, read books that soothe you from inside. Good books are a great source of pleasure plus you learn a lot of new things from them. I recommend you to stay away from broken heart stories or other depressing books but read something which is interesting and light. According to a recent survey it has been revealed that women who read books on comedy and jokes at the time of their pregnancy gave birth to naturally smiling and laughing kids. It has also been revealed with several studies that a happy and joyful time spent in pregnancy brings up a happy and smiling baby, so it is my personal advice that if you enjoy reading jokes or stuff like that, pick up some books not only for you but also for your baby. My wife did not read books on comedy but I read a joke in front of her on a daily basis and the result is that my daughter is always smiling and is an active baby. I know it has worked for me and must work for any other parents. Pregnancy is a time where there are a lot of ups and downs, especially in first pregnancy when you are not aware or used to the changes happening inside and outside of your body, so spend this stressful time with laughing and enjoying jokes with your hubby. The results will be great. I guarantee.
Listening to Soothing Music
Women who listen to soothing music at the time of pregnancy get relaxed and build self confidence which helps in relieving labor pains at the time of delivery. Soothing music relaxes the muscles of our body. Also, when the birth of your baby takes place, play the same music in front of him/her and he/she if crying will calm down as soon as you play the music.
Taking a Good Night Sleep
Always remember to sleep on your left side if possible, as according to studies it has been confirmed that sleeping on left side at the time of pregnancy provides the required oxygen flow to your baby. Also take a good night sleep as this will help your baby to grow inside you. Sleep with a relaxed mood. Don’t sleep on your back as it can hurt your back.
Exercising at the Time of Pregnancy
You can do some very light exercises at the time of pregnancy. A short walk is okay. You need to keep your body muscles, especially leg muscles strong to help at the time of delivery. Also you can do some breathing exercises at the time of pregnancy that will be highly beneficial for you at the time of delivery. Most breathing exercises help in getting normal delivery but before starting any workout regimen, first of all consult you’re your obstetrician as he/she is the best guide.
Avoid Drinking Alcohol and Smoking at This Time
Smoking and drinking alcohol is always injurious to health but you should always remember that it is fatal at the time of pregnancy. You need to completely cease these activities if you are doing it before your being pregnant. The choice is up to you. Smoking is a total no no but if you are craving for a drink, you can go ahead and have a a small glass of red wine but if you can overcome it, leave it and opt for a glass of juice instead. This is only my advice, the choice is yours.
Tips and tricks For Post Pregnancy Workouts
The benefits of walking during pregnancy
Walking is one of the best cardiovascular exercises for pregnant women because it keeps you fit without jarring your knees and ankles. It's also a safe activity to continue throughout all nine months of pregnancy and one of the easier ways to start exercising if you haven't previously been active.
If you've been walking, keep it up. If you were fairly inactive before you got pregnant, start with a slow walk and build up to brisk 20- to 30-minute jaunts. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, you can safely do moderate exercise for 30 minutes or more most days of the week, provided you've gotten the go-ahead from your doctor or midwife.
Warning signs
Never walk to the point of exhaustion or breathlessness. Pushing yourself to the limit forces your body to use oxygen that should be going to your baby.
Stop walking immediately and call your healthcare provider if you have any of the following symptoms: vaginal bleeding, difficulty breathing, dizziness, exercise, chest pain, muscle weakness, calf pain or swelling, preterm labor, decreased fetal movement, apparent leakage of amniotic fluid, or contractions.
A myth about mangoes and papaya generate a lot of heat and hence should be avoided during pregnancy
Although the theory is not proven, but in case of papaya, papin(an enzyme contained in white thin layers of the ripe fruit is strong acid in nature) which is even used in cooking meat so that it gets cooked faster by dissolving the muscle tissue which is why its adviced not to be eaten as per old wives tale.......nutrition does not support theory of yin-yang foods(hot & cold foods), the simple reason for not making a pregnant woman eat mangoes or pineapples are because they cause throat irritation and can also upset the digestive system.
