Do you think that ration card system in India has collapsed?

I know ration card system in India and I don't agree that it has collapsed. It is still working and in many states in India, this system is doing well enough for below poverty line people of states. It didn't even collapsed after the decline of USSR but because of black marketing of the food grains and high rise of transporters cost involved in distributing all essential commodities and also circulation of bogus ration cards, although it is evident that politicians have been behind the large-scale issue of below poverty line cards in exchange for votes who are trying to naturalize all illegal's people either form Bangladesh or any other country for their vote bank.

Even you can check that most bogus cards of below poverty line have been issued in West Bengal, especially West Bengal government is doing this to create vote bank and naturalizing all illegal Bangladeshi into states in return of votes. Many state distributors have complained to their own government heads about having difficulties in distributing essential commodities to all below poverty line people because of local leader's and unions. Furthermore, central government is also running parallel many other schemes for below poverty line and above poverty line people for e.g., Antyodaya Anna Yojana (a public distribution system) and Annapoorna.

I would also not blame the current financial crisis for this problem. The problem with the ration system is that it is from start and it will remain their until we don't get rid of corrupt local states level official who are responsible for this distribution of essentials commodities to all needy people in our country.
