Hey friend. I am also looking to buy a new car in the same budget and I had some questions a few days back about some different types of car models and makes. So I visited the showrooms of Hyundai, Ford, and Fiat. When I was visiting these showrooms, I took a pen and paper and noted down some things, which were necessary for comparison between them. My visit to these showrooms was really wonderful and I test drive each and every vehicle, as I wanted to get the best car.
Here are some of my questions to which I got answers after reviewing and comparing them. Please read them as I think these will really help you theory wise for comparing these models, but I would highly recommend you to test drive and compare them on your own before buying.
Question No. 1: Does the New Honda City has a CD player or only the USB port?
Answer: It just has a USB port but you can upgrade to a CD player; however, USB functions are more easier and user friendly. You just have to copy songs to your USB and its done. No ripping CDs anymore.
Question No. 2: Which car's gearbox is better?
Answer: Honda City no doubt is the best when it comes to the gearshift.
Question No. 3: What about Verna, Fiesta or SX4?
Answer: Verna is the best of the above. SX4 is very low on mileage. Do not expect more than 8 kmpl in Delhi and 11 on the highway, even the steering is too heavy on the SX4, though the space is good. Fiesta is good but low resale value after 2 years.
Question No. 4: Is Fiats long-term commitment to India a problem?
Answer: That is a question no one has an answer to, but Linea has got a very good sales number in the month of January. This could just be the car that revives the Fiat brand in India. It is TATA who is providing after sales for Linea. If you look at other companies, everyone has problems due to the credit crunch like Toyota, Ford, GM TATA, all of them. This is one question no one has an answer to honestly
Question No. 5: How about Skoda or a modified SUV?
Answer: Currently, this is one of the most competitive segments in the Indian car industry and has many competitors with varied talents.
Question No. 6: I am looking for a car with nice and smooth engine?
Answer: Honda City, Ford Fiesta, Fiat Linea, and Hyundai Verna have refined engines (both diesel and petrol in case of Fiesta, Linea and Verna). SX4 is a little gruff sounding one compared to these.
Question No. 7: What about the seating system in these cars?
Answer: Seating three at the back is easiest in Linea and City. It is tougher to seat three in SX4 at the back. Fiesta has the capacity to seat three abreast but the legroom is tight.
However if you like driving yourself and love the pleasure of a journey or even a commute, choose Fiesta 1.6 S with your eyes closed. SX4 offers good value for money but there are few things going for it in the sense that it does not win any aspect hands down. Verna is too soft and boring to drive in petrol form and the interiors are dull and boring.
But if you are looking at a better overall package, then its between Linea and City. The Linea has a better ride and handling and that Italian flair, beauty, and Charisma that will hardly fade in years to come, something which Japanese cannot match. Linea is a keeper. If you buy it, you would want to keep it even after 5 years.
So according to me up, I think Fiat Linea is the best option as you can save 1 lacks if your budget is 8 to 9 lakhs because Fiat Linea's on-road price is approximately 7 lakhs.

Good points of Fiat Linea:
- Value for money.
- Great features like blue and ME.
- Diesel option available.
- Fantastic looks.
- Interiors are class above.
- Linea is bigger than other cars in competition (length wise).
Bad points of Fiat Linea:
- Legroom for drivers seat.
- Short legs long-arm seating position.
- Aftersales service.
- Petrol engine is not fun to drive.
- Diesel feels underpowered at times but you get used to it.

Really a great hub for a great car. I saw one Fiat Linea on the streets of Delhi yesterday and its looks are really awesome. I have fallen in love with this really good looking car. I will definitely go on to have test drive this week in one of the Fiat showroom located nearby my home.

I have bought a Linea 2 months back.. its a typical highway car what was provved in my recent visit to Shimla and yes We could request Onida to transfer their jingle to Fiat " NEIGHBOUR'S ENVY OWNER'S PRIDE" .
I felt pleasure observing many eyes peeping out of many BMW's & Mercedes windows to grab a look of this car...Its a sheer eternal pride to own this.
Yes Vineet Linea is unique and different. Everyone is running to buy Maruti because of serviceability and inexpensive spare parts of Maruti but people who have a different flair opt for Fiat Linea. Linea is a marvelous car. Best of luck for many more trips of yours riding on your Linea.

I have recently found a Card looking like a Credit Card wherein Some Electronic Code and Mechanical Code are mentioned. It was lost in my kit , Could someone help me knowing its usage.
I believe it carries some imp codes.

Well Soni its a Card of the size of a Creidt/Debit Card with following features:
FIAT written on the top
A Key's picture below that
Then comes CODE
ELECTRONIC CODE:
MECHANICAL CODE:
And on the back of the card is written-
CAUTION-Keep this card on a safe place , do not leave in the car.
I think this smart card is made up for obtaining or making duplicate keys for your Fiat car in case you have lost the original keys of your car and it is really dangerous for your vehicle's security if you have missed that. I advice you to contact Fiat's customer care for lodging a complaint of your lost card.

Hi Shailesh, if you want a vehicle under you which has speed, power, performance, name, and fame plus the most important point if you want to look unique and different from the crowd, then go ahead with Fiat Linea. It's really sexy car in my opinion and looks unique.
Really this Fiat is very economic - but a lot of people lament from Fiat. I will bet on Honda!

It's your hard earned money so you want to invest this money in a good transport or vehicle which can serve you and your family needs. For this, it depends on your own decision on which car fulfills your needs, etc. You can see less Fiat Linea on Indians road because it is not so much popular like other brands. Fiat is very popular in Europe and is a reliable brand for cars over there. That's what is the information I can share with you. I do not want to recommend anything or write a single name of the car because I don't want your money to get wasted after buying a useless car. There are a millions of sites and reviews on cars available on the internet, you just need to go through them and make your decision. Vineet, you are a very good observer. I have been also seeing many Linea on Delhi roads nowadays. Actually, the car is really glamorous and Fiat is a trusted company by many. Though I am not able to tell about the exact current sales performance of Linea but I think it must have crossed more than 1100 units per month because nine months from Linea's launch, Fiat had already sold more than 10000 units in India.

There is a sales growth of 57% registered by Fiat and the trust is increasing every single day...I give you an example ...I shifted in my society in NCR last year in the month of may and many people came across and took the feedback and as a result I could see almost 20-25 Linea parked in the society.
The potential is getting unleashed by n by.
It's really good to hear that Fiat is again building up its trust in the Indian automobile industry. I think more and more people will buy Fiat Linea as it is a wonderful car. A sales growth of 57% is great for Fiat in India. Afterall Fiat is one of the most trusted car brand in western countries especially in Europe where there are a lot of Fiat lovers.

I am planning to buy a Sedan sub 8L and I have shortlisted Manza and Linea.
I would have chosen Linea hands down(even though Manza offers additional for the same price range), however I have read on many forums/blogs that Linea Petrol has very poor AC performance. Any comments on this aspect.
I drive my car (Santro) with 80-90% AC on and I do about 1000kms per month. Considering my present driving statistics, AC is very important for me.

Hey Vineet, before changing tires to alloy or something you must know that if you change tires in warranty period your warranty will be lost. First check this and then consider of changing tires to alloys or bigger profiles.

I'm planning to buy a car with a budget of 8Lac n Fiat Linea fits my pocket, just a couple of days ago had a test drive n was carried away with its handling n road grip manners however i'm concern about its after sales & service and much more for its availability of spares. i'm not worried about its resale value since i'll b using it for more than 5 yrs. The Emotion model(3rd model) will cost me for about 8,50,000/- on road in Gujarat, kindly help me to take my decision as Dushera is round the corner.
